Add content from PDF (Or another supported source)

There may be cases where you want to include content from an Adobe PDF in your course material. 


You can paste in 2 different ways: 

  1. As a link 
  2. As an image

As a Link: 

  1. Upload your selected PDF to MY DOCS 
    (Detailed steps can be found here: Upload a file to “MY DOCS”
  2. Locate your document in MY DOCS (Document Management System) 
  3. Right click the save icon (Disk) to the right of the document name 
  4. Click one of the following: (This depends on the browser you are using) 
  • Copy Link 
  • Copy Shortcut 
  • Copy Link Address 



  1. Open the topic editor by following these steps: 
  • Highlight “MY TEAM”>“MY COURSES"

  • Select the type of course you would like to add content to (INDUCTION or TRAINING) 
  • Select the course in the left column
  • Locate the topic on the right 
  • Select the edit icon (pencil) to the right of the topic name 
                              
If the topic name does not have a pencil it may be a Generic ASSA topic - You will need to duplicate this before you can edit it 
OR
It is linked from another course - Update the original and that change will apply here

  1. Select “Insert" tab 


  2. Click link icon (Chain link with +) 
  3. Remove any text in “URL” field 
  4. Paste the link copied earlier into this field (Right Click>Paste) 
    Or use the keyboard shortcut: 
  • On Windows: Control+V 
  • On Mac: Command+V 
  1. In the “Link Text” field type the text that will link to the selected PDF





     
  2. Select “OK” 
    Your link will now show in the editor 



     
  3. To save changes click the "Save" button in the bottom right corner 



As a Picture: 

  1. Take a screenshot of the document 
  1. Open the topic editor by following these steps: 
  • Highlight “MY TEAM” > “MY COURSES"


     
  • Select the type of course you would like to add content to (INDUCTION or TRAINING) 
  • Select the course in the left 
  • Locate the topic on the right 
  • Select the edit icon (pencil) to the right of the topic name 


  • If the topic name does not have a pencil it may be a Generic ASSA topic - You will need to duplicate this before you can edit it 
    OR 
    It is linked from another course - Update the original and that change will apply here

  1. Select “Insert" tab 


     
  2. Select the image icon 
  3. In the dialog that appears click “Select” 
  4. In the file selection window select your screenshot 
  5. Click “Open” 
  6. Select “Upload” 
  7. Once this upload is complete select “Insert” in the bottom right corner
