Your Data - Safe and Secure

We use a secure, reliable, cloud based service - AWS (Amazon Web Services), to host, store and backup all ASSA website resources.  (See more information about AWS here, and more information on AWS security here).



  • Our cloud servers run daily image snapshots of the server, so if there is ever a problem with a server we can restore to the most recent working image.
  • We use AWS to store several weekly backups of ALL data on our servers, including the database files, so you can be sure that ALL data is safe and backed up.
  • Our databases are also backed up every day, which means data can be recovered quickly if there is ever a database issue.

What about privacy and protection of customers’ hosted data?

AWS provide services at the direction of ASSA, but have no knowledge of the data (including any personal data) that you store or otherwise process when using AWS services.  As all data on our cloud servers are secured (directly limited by ASSA's IP Addresses, and via the website through secure encrypted authorisation), you as an ASSA member retain full ownership and custody of your data.

Data Centre Locations
ASSA's main AWS data centre is in Sydney, to ensure speed for Australia and New Zealand members is a fast as possible.  Although this is the primary source of data, in an event of an outage, AWS have cloud data centres in many locations around the world, meaning the ASSA servers are always available, even in the unlikely event of an outage in one location. So, in short, our members can rest assured that all ASSA data and services are as secure and safe as can possibly be.
