Create Induction Course

Create Induction Course

If you have a new Employee/Contractor you may want to create an Induction Course. Follow the below steps to create an Induction Course.

You can create an Induction Course in 2 different ways:
    1. New course with no content
    2. Copy an existing course

New course with no content
  1. Open the topic editor by following these steps:
    On the top row:
    1. Highlight “MY TEAM”>“MY COURSES"
    2. Select "INDUCTION COURSES"

  1. In the left column, select "Add New Induction"
  2. Enter a course name in the dialog box that appears
  3. Click Create Course
  4. In the left column, Select the course you just created
  5. On the right, under "TOPICS" select "Create New Topic"
  6. This will allow you to add:
    1.  Topic Title
      1. This will be how you identify the content topic or page
      2. You can have many topics in an induction or just one (1)
    2. Topic Content
      1. This is information you are providing to your Employee/Contractors
      2. The "Edit" tab allows you to Undo, Spell Check, Copy, Paste etc,
      3. The format of this information can be edited similar to other word processors using the "Format" tab
      4. The "Insert Tab" can be used to add image, links to websites or YouTube/Vimeo videos. (See Article "Inserting Links")
    3. Questions
      1. Adding questions allows you to test Employee/Contractors retention of the topic content
      2. You set the answers as Yes/No, True/False, or custom answers
      3. You can select the correct answer by putting a check next to the corresponding answer
      4. ONLY one (1) answer can be set as the correct answer
  7. Select "Save" when done

Note: You can add, edit or remove content at any time.

  8. Repeat Steps 6-8 above to include all necessary content

Copy an existing course
Existing Induction courses can be copied/cloned. This is useful if the new topic is similar to one you have previously created.

  1. Open the topic editor by following these steps:
    On the top row:
    1. Highlight “MY TEAM”>“MY COURSES"
    2. Select "INDUCTION COURSES"
  2. In the left column, locate the Induction course you would like to copy.
Note: ASSA has provided a generic induction for your use
  3. To the right of the Induction title select the Copy/Clone (Two pages icon)
  4. You will now find another induction in the list followed by "Clone" and the current date
